Today is February 2 of the lunar calendar. According to folklore, this is the day when the Dragon King, who is in charge of clouds and rain, raises his head, which means that there will be more rain after this. There is also a folk proverb "February 2, the dragon raises its head", which means that with the arrival of spring, all things After recovery, the Hidden Dragon begins to move, indicating that the agricultural activities of the year are about to begin.

February 2nd is the Dragon Head Festival, which is said to be the "Flower Festival" in the Song Dynasty, and this day is designated as the birthday of hundreds of flowers. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was called "Outing Festival", and people went out for outings and picnics on this day. When some people go home from an outing, they pick some leaves (flowers and leaves that grow on the ground) along the way and take them back to their homes to worship in front of their door. This custom is a metaphor for "welcoming wealth". In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, this day was called the day when the dragon raises its head because the second day of the second lunar month coincides with the "Jingzhe" solar term. Many animals, such as snakes, earthworms, frogs, etc., enter a state of hibernation in the winter without eating or drinking. This is called "hibernation". Around February 2, when the weather gets warmer, some insects and animals seem to be awakened from their sleep by the spring sunshine and spring thunder, so this festival is called "Jingzhe". There is no such thing as a big dragon in people's legends. That kind of dragon was made from the imagination of our ancestors based on snakes, earthworms, etc. Around the second day of February, when spring returns to the earth, people hope that the dragon will come out to suppress all harmful poisonous insects and hope for a good harvest. This is the saying "On February 2, the dragon raises its head".
